ABOUT

HBI SUSTAINABILITY
Our Commitment

We are making comfortable apparel by focusing on our three pillars: People, Product and Planet.

We’re building on a long track record of strong social and environmental practices across our teams, operations and facilities.

As we face what’s sure to be a decisive decade for the world, we’re accelerating our efforts and significantly expanding our positive impact on our planet, people and products.

Sustainability Goals

We produce about 75% of our total unit volume in facilities that we either own or operate – and that gives us a huge advantage when it comes to sustainability.

We directly manage environmental and social practices in our owned operations and actively monitor these practices across the rest of our supply chain. This keeps us closely connected to the many communities that are part of our global business.

Our unique model provides a framework for local action and innovation at our locations across the world. It’s also helping us build a culture of empowerment and continued learning and improvement throughout the company.

To drive our sustainability program forward, teams from around the globe regularly come together to share best practices, compare successful programs, and identify new ways to create even more positive impact from what we do every day.

Our Track Record and 2024 Progress

Sustainability makes sense from every angle – benefiting people, the planet, and our business. That’s why we have been committed to building and evolving a sustainability program for decades.

We’re incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made in managing our environmental impacts and continually improving programs that benefit our people and communities.

Between 2007 and 2024, on a per unit basis, we have reduced our:

  • Energy use by 25%
  • Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by more than 60%, and
  • Water use by 43%

These are real reductions that have generated real cost savings – millions of dollars. Our recycling efforts have generated millions more in revenue, which we invest in our own associates, local community development efforts, and philanthropic donations through our Green for Good program.

We must continue to do even more.

Our progress against our goals is publicly reported in our Data Dashboard.
