HanesBrands is proud to be recognized as a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star Sustained Excellence/Partner of the Year award recipient, marking the 14th consecutive time the organization has been honored.
Hanes was one of 22 industrial ENERGY STAR partners recognized in 2023 for leading organization-wide energy management strategies, programs and achievements.
The company earned EPA recognition for lowering overall energy use while increasing use of renewable energy and electricity. The recognition comes as a direct result of HanesBrands’ strong commitment to being an international leader in energy management.
HanesBrands is one of 22 industrial ENERGY STAR partners recognized for leading corporate-wide energy management strategies, programs and achievements. The company earned the award for a range of key accomplishments, including:

- Promoting its partnership with ENERGY STAR through marketing materials that have generated over 813 million impressions.
- Supporting the ENERGY STAR industrial partnership through presentations, mentoring, and active participation.
- Aligning its decarbonization goals with the Paris Agreement by committing to a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 30% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030.
- Investing in and completing five major solar projects and signing a long-term renewable purchase power agreement for 50,000 MVh.
Energy Star was introduced by the EPA in 1992 as a voluntary, market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through increased efficiency. The annual Energy Star Partner of the Year award honors organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protect the environment through best practices and organization-wide energy savings. Additionally, Hanes has developed a unique Energy Star partnership mark, which has been added to packaging (see the new logo below).
