University of Missouri Student and Champion Collab on New Design for Wheelchair Basketball Team
March 2024
The Mizzou Wheelchair Basketball team strives for greatness in student-designed Champion team merch.
Champion is proud to support the Mizzou Wheelchair Basketball team and staff with branded gear featuring a unique graphic designed by Alexandra George, Textile and Apparel Management (TAM) Mizzou student and Champion EMBER, as part of the Mizzou Student Made program. The program connects Champion with college students to understand what they value and integrates Champion design opportunities into the classroom to develop students’ abilities. The merch received by the team included Triumph Hoodies, bookbags, T-shirts and fleece joggers.
“Collaborating with one of our mass exclusive college apparel partners like the University of Missouri, enables us to engage with new audiences, connect our brand to something deeper and help bring the Champion What Moves You platform to life on college campuses,” said Lynlee Carswell, director, product management – LSA Champion Sports Apparel.
Reverse Weave sweatshirts with the same graphic were then given away to the first 250 students who attended a home game in December and are now available for purchase at the college’s bookstore. A portion of the proceeds will support the Wheelchair Basketball team.
With an unparalleled heritage in the collegiate space, Champion is fostering inclusion in sports by encouraging people to push boundaries and inspiring the pursuit of their passions – creating a better world for all.
This collaborative effort contributes to our 2030 sustainability goals under the people pillar. We are working toward improving the lives of ten million people – supporting communities through comfort, inclusion and health.
