Empowering Rehabilitation Patients in El Salvador
October 2025
HBI associates assemble wheelchairs to help empower and bring comfort to people with physical disabilities in El Salvador.
Forty-two representatives from our El Salvador offices joined for a meaningful volunteer day, assembling nearly 40 wheelchairs to benefit rehabilitation patients through the Teletón Foundation.
Operating for more than 40 years, the Teletón Foundation helps to assist in the rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities of all ages across El Salvador.
“We find great impact in serving others, supporting the rehabilitation journey, and helping individuals gain independence and restore mobility. Partnering with organizations allows us to contribute directly to the well-being of people and families who need it most,” Ingrid Sánchez, Sustainability Superintendent – HBI El Salvador, said.
Marking the second collaboration between HBI and the non-profit organization, the volunteer work reflects our ongoing commitment to improving the lives of those in the communities where we operate.
Last year, our volunteers painted and reorganized spaces at one of the foundation’s centers, creating additional consultation areas that enabled the foundation to serve more patients in need. This year, in addition to volunteering, HBI donated ergonomic chairs to the rehabilitation care centers’ staff.
This community initiative contributes to our global sustainability strategy, which aims to positively impact the lives of at least 500,000 people per year. Learn more about our sustainability efforts.
