HBI and Delivering Good Pilot Program Brings Comfort to Those in Crisis

HBI partners with Delivering Good to introduce a pilot program developed to meet the urgent needs of individuals and families facing disasters.
When disaster strikes, timing is everything. That’s why we’ve partnered with Delivering Good to launch the Basic Comforts Pack – a ready-to-deploy solution aimed at getting essential clothing and comfort items into the hands of those affected by crisis, fast.
The Basic Comforts Pack pilot is built on speed and empathy, hope and dignity.
Each pack contains brand-new essentials donated by Hanes and the KnitWell Group – socks, T-shirts, sweatpants, a sweatshirt, underwear, a blanket, and a tote offering warmth, comfort and hope in the moments they’re needed most. Ralph Lauren and Accenture also join as co-sponsors of the pilot initiative.
“At HBI, we believe everyone deserves comfort, especially during their most difficult moments,” said Teddy Mendoza, HBI Global Sustainability Officer. “Clothing may seem small, but in a disaster, it can be one of the most personal and powerful forms of support. We’re proud to lead this effort with our long-time partners at Delivering Good to bring compassion, warmth and dignity to those who need it most.”
The Basic Comforts Pack was created to meet urgent needs with dignity and care. In times of crisis, access to essentials like clothing, hygiene items, and bedding can bring immediate comfort and help individuals begin to rebuild. Delivering Good works with a nationwide network of nonprofit partners to ensure these packs reach the people who need them most – quickly, thoughtfully and with impact.
President and CEO of Delivering Good Matthew Fasciano said, “The Basic Comforts Pack is not just clothing or supplies – it’s a starting point. A moment of relief that says: you are not alone.”
Since 2017, HBI has donated millions of items through Delivering Good to support families in need.
As part of Delivering Good’s 40th anniversary, this pilot program represents the next evolution in our partnership to come together and bring people what they need, when they need it the most.
